Dana Romanoff

  • Dana Romanoff is a director, photographer, mother and mango fanatic whose work blends visual anthropology with compelling storytelling. Her approach is authentic, culturally sensitive and visually dynamic.

Dana began her career as a photojournalist tackling social issues for major publications including National Geographic Magazine, New York Times, and The Charlotte Observer where she was part of a team of reporters named runner up to the Pulitzer Prize. Now, she brings the same cinematic eye and depth to commercial, branded, and documentary filmmaking.

Her work has earned numerous accolades including the Telly, W3, Communicator Awards and her films appear on Amazon Prime, The Atlantic, Guardian, National Geographic Channel, PBS, Smithsonian Channel and Upworthy. Her campaigns for brands like Google, UPS, Marriott, Conservation International, and Meta are engaging and heartfelt, with her Budweiser work “For the Fathers That Stepped Up” moving audiences to tears.

From hunting with tribes in West Papua to climbing 19,000ft peaks with adaptive athletes, Dana’s work reveals the inner lives of her subjects. A fluent Spanish speaker and advocate for women and girls she believes in the power of film and photography to break barriers, foster understanding, and build bridges—whether across oceans or between backyards.
